What would be the best time for me to apply for a visa before my planned departure for China?

It is advisable that you apply for a visa one month before your intended date of entry into China but not earlier than three months. The Chinese visa is typically valid for three months. If you apply for a visa too early, the visa may expire before your departure. For instance, if you plan to enter China on July 1, the best time to submit your application would be around June 1 (counting working days only).

Does a child need to fill out a visa application form as well? Is the service fee the same for a child?

As an independent applicant, the child needs to fill out a separate visa application form. However, if the child shares the same passport with a principal applicant, this is not required. The visa processing procedure is the same for a child who is an independent applicant or an accompanying applicant sharing the same passport with the principal applicant. Therefore, the child incurs the same amount of service fee.

Can I go to VISA application center to apply for visa directly without applying online and making an appointment in advance?

All applicants are required to fill in the visa application form online, please visit www.visaforchina.org. Check the assessing result of your application: Applicant can find the assessing result in “Track My Application” once submitting the application. If the status showing“Passport to be submitted”, then applicants can submit documents at the VISA application center on working day 9:00am-15:00pm.

What's“visa exemption for resident permit holders”?

Foreigners who have entered China with D, J1, Q1, S1, X1, or Z visas and have obtained the residence permit through public security organs could stay in China, and enjoy multiple entries and exits without a separate visa during the valid period of the residence permit.Those who hold a Certificate of Permanent Residence of Aliens may stay in China, and enjoy multiple entries and exits without a separate visa.

I'm in China now , but my visa will expire soon. Can I deliver my passport to my friend in Bangladesh and apply for a new Chinese visa from the Visa Application Center?

No. You should leave China before the expiry of the visa or apply through the local Exit and Entry Administration for extension of stay in China.

What if I lost my pick up form?

If you lost your pick-up form, please present your photo identity card to the Visa Center’s staff for verification. Visa Center will return your passport after confirming your identity and making a copy of your ID. If you can’t come in person due to some special reason, you can entrust someone else to pick up your passport with a letter of attorney which is notarized, a copy of your ID card, and the entrusted person’s ID card.
