Notice on Compensation Arrangement For Long-Term Valid Chinese Visa With Multiple Entries Temporarily Suspended Due to Covid-19

Applicants who meets all of the following requirements may apply for compensation:
1. The applicant is a holder of a long-term valid Chinese visa with multiple entries issued before 28th March 2020, and:
(a) The visa was issued according to a mutual beneficial agreement between the government of the People’s Republic of China and the government of foreign countries.
(b) The expiration date of the visa must not be earlier than 28th March 2020, and the visa must be expired by the time of applying for compensation.
2. The applicant has not obtained a new long-term valid Chinese visa with multiple entries nor a Chinese resident permit since 28th March 2020.
During the period of 28th March 2020 to 14th March 2023:
1. If the applicant's long-term valid Chinese visa with multiple entries has been actually suspended for less than one year, the applicant may apply for a new visa valid for one year with multiple entries in compensation.
2. If the applicant's long-term valid Chinese visa with multiple entries has been actually suspended for more than one year but less than two years, the applicant may apply for a new visa valid for two years with multiple entries in compensation.
3. If the applicant's long-term valid Chinese visa with multiple entries has been actually suspended for more than tow years but less than three years, the applicant may apply for a new visa valid for three years with multiple entries in compensation.
The visa fees are waived for the above mentioned visa valid for one/two/three year(s) , while the additional fees for expedited service and service fees charged by Chinese Visa Application Service Centre are not waived. The procedures of application and requirements of supporting documents remain the same.
Applicants may choose whether to apply for compensation after the expiration of their visas. If applicants choose to give up the compensation, a new long-term valid Chinese visa with multiple entries can be applied for with normal charge.
