(F) Exchange,visits,study tours or other relevant activities

1. Common Documents

(1). Passport valid for more than 6 months with at least one blank visa page.

(2). Copy of the passport personal information page.

(3). Copy of the front and back of  Pakistan National ID card for Pakistani citizens.

(4). Copy of evidence of legal stay or residence in Pakistan for a third-country nationals, such as visa, Pakistan Origin Card, etc.

(5). Original Chinese passport and a copy of the passport personal information page for the person who was previously a Chinese national and applies Chinese visa for the first time after  naturalization of another country.

(6). If the applicant’s name is changed and differs from that in a new passport, please provide an official certificate of the name change, which must be apostilled by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Pakistan.

(7). Valid police character/clearance certificate (updated). Applicants aged 10 and above must submit a police character/clearance certificate covering the period "since birth..., till now"; applicants under the age of 10 are not required to submit. If the document doesn't contain a verifiable QR code, it must be accompanied by an apostille issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Pakistan.

2. Characterized Documents

Circumstance 1: for applicant offering an Invitation Letter (TE) or Verification Letter of Invitation: 

either of the above two documents is required. Moreover, Verification Letter of Invitation should be submitted with an ordinary invitation letter from a real inviting organization/entity in China. 

Please see Appendix 1 for the content requirements of an ordinary invitation letter.

Circumstance 2: for applicant unable to offer an Invitation Letter (TE) or Verification Letter of Invitation:   

(1). An ordinary invitation letter from a real inviting organization/entity in China.

Please see Appendix 2 for conditions in which an Invitation Letter (TE) or Verification Letter of Invitation is exempt.

Please see Appendix 1 for the content requirements of an ordinary invitation letter.

(2). The applicant’s personal bank statement for the latest 6 months (Closing balance should be enough to cover all expenses during the applicant’s real stay period in China, no less than US $100 per day or equivalent Pakistani Rupees).

(3). It is recommended that the applicant provide round trip itinerary or e-airline ticket booking information, and hotel reservation paper.

**Additional supporting documents may be required based on different specific situations.

Appendix 1: An ordinary invitation letter from a real inviting organization or entity in China for F and M visa should contain the following elements:

Personal information of the invitee: name, gender, date of birth, passport number, etc.

Information of the invitee’s visit: purpose of the visit to China, arrival and departure dates, places to visit, relationship with the inviting organization or entity, source of expenses, etc.

Information of the inviting organization or entity: the accurate and complete name of the inviting organization/entity, contact number, address, organization/entity formal stamp, signature of the legal representative or the inviter of the inviting organization/entity, signature date, etc.

Please note: The stamp of the inviting organization/entity in China should be the formal and certified stamp. The State Council of China stipulates that the seals of Chinese administrative agencies, enterprises/companies, institutions, and social groups must be circular, and forging seals or using forged seals is unlawful. The stamp on the invitation letter can be the official seal of the organization/entity registered in the local public security authority in China, or it can be the special seal used only for handling matters related to foreign affairs, such as inviting foreigners to China, passport and visa matters, etc. The latter special seal is different from the official seal both in name and shape, and can only be used with approval of the organization/entity’s leader in China according to Chinese laws and regulations. The most common Chinese company seal sample is provided as follows:  

Appendix 2: Conditions in Which an Invitation Letter (TE) or Verification Letter of Invitation is exempt.  

When applying for F or M visa, the individual applicant should get from the inviting organization/ entity in China an Invitation Letter (TE) or Verification Letter of Invitation. However, Invitation Letter (TE) or Verification Letter of Invitation could be exempted if the individual applicant satisfies either of the following two conditions.

I. The individual applicant should be the person who works and is appointed certain posts in Pakistani government departments, official organizations and institutions with private passport in which “Government Officer” or “Government Employee” is annotated. Additionally, No Objection Certificate (NOC) to Travel Abroad which is issued by the employer and apostilled by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Pakistan, and the applicant’s personal bank statement for the latest 6 months which can cover all expenses during the applicant’s real stay period in China, no less than US $100 per day or equivalent Pakistani Rupees, should be submitted. For the first-time visitors to China, round trip itinerary or e-airline ticket booking information, and hotel reservation paper should be provided as well. 

II. The individual applicant should be the person who has visited China for more than three times since 1st Jan 2016. Additionally, the passport personal information page, the copy of the passport visa pages on which the Chinese immigration officer stamped exit-entry border seals for these three times, and the applicant’s personal bank statement for the latest 6 months which can cover all expenses during the applicant’s real stay period in China, no less than US $100 per day or equivalent Pakistani Rupees, should be submitted.

Please note: The individual applicant still needs to submit an ordinary invitation letter from the inviting organization/entity in China, even though he/she is exempt from Invitation Letter (TE) or Verification Letter of Invitation. 

ATTENTION: Part 6.2 should fill in invite organization's name which written on the Verification Letter of Invitation or an Invitation Letter (TE).

Note: According to the relevant regulations, our Consulate only accepts the "Invitation Verification Form" or "Invitation Letter (TE)" for the consulate General of China in Karachi.

3. Special Reminder

(1). If necessary, the consular officer may require the applicant to provide other supporting documents or supplementary materials, or ask for an interview with the applicant, or require signing off after the applicant finish visiting China.

(2). The applicant for certain types of Visa (D, Q1, Q2, S1, S2, X1, X2 & Z) should come in person for an interview. (every time for this visa type).

(3). The consular officer has the final decision on the visa issuance, validity, duration of stay and number of entries according to specific condition of the applicant.
