Visa-Free Entry to Hainan For Nationals of Most Countries

Effective from the date of this announcement, nationals of the following countries are permitted to enter Hainan visa-free for stays of up to 30 days for purposes such as business, visits, family reunions, medical treatment, exhibitions, and sporting events, excluding work and study:

Russia, the United Kingdom, France, Germany, Norway, Ukraine, Italy, Austria, Finland, the Netherlands, Denmark, Switzerland, Sweden, Spain, Belgium, the Czech Republic, Estonia, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Poland, Portugal, Slovakia, Slovenia, Ireland, Cyprus, Bulgaria, Romania, Serbia, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Albania, the United States, Canada, Brazil, Mexico, Argentina, Chile, Australia, New Zealand, South Korea, Japan, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Kazakhstan, the Philippines, Indonesia, Brunei, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Monaco, and Belarus.

Entry into and exit from China must take place through any port in Hainan Province officially designated as open to foreign nationals. Visa-free visitors are permitted to travel within the administrative territory of Hainan Province. Where a mutual visa exemption agreement signed between China and the relevant country applies, the provisions of that agreement shall prevail.

The permitted period of stay shall be calculated from 00:00 on the day following the date of entry.

The previously implemented 30-day visa-free policy allowing nationals of the above countries to enter Hainan for tourism purposes shall remain in effect.
