1、Passport:
Original passport valid for at least 6 months from the date of application, with at least 2 blank visa pages, 1 copy of passport photo data page.
Caution: Passports with tears, water damage, stains, missing pages, etc. will not be accepted.
It is an international practice for consular officers to check your previous passports and it is recommended that you bring your last passport with you when you apply for a visa.
2、 Photographs:
Two (2), plain white background, color ID photos
Photo requirements: recent, frontal, color (plain white background), bareheaded, small 2-inch documentary photo (48mm x 33mm), see here for details of photo requirements.
3、Visa application form:
Fill out one copy of the accurate and complete "Visa Application Form of the People's Republic of China" online. After completion, please make sure to print a complete set of visa application form and have the applicant sign on the application form. Please make sure that the information filled in the application form is correct and complete, otherwise the application will not be accepted.
Please make sure that you upload your own photo when filling out the online form. If you upload a photo other than your own, the center will reject your application and ask you to fill out the online form again and upload your own photo before submitting it. If the online form is unsuccessful, the visa center will assist in scanning and uploading the required photo on the day of application submission.

4、Data Protection Declaration:
Please download and print the "Consent Form for Personal Data Collection", which should be completed and signed by the applicant.

5、Proof of lawful stay or residence (for those who are not applying for a visa in their country of nationality):
If you are not applying for a visa in your country of nationality, please provide the original and a copy of a valid certificate of lawful stay, work or study there or a valid visa.
EU nationality citizens need to provide proof of Austrian household registration (registered for at least 6 months).
6、Original Chinese passport or original Chinese visa (for those who had Chinese nationality and later joined foreign nationality):
If you are applying for a Chinese visa for the first time, please provide the original Chinese passport and a copy of the passport photo data page.
If you have previously been issued a Chinese visa, when applying for a visa with a newly issued foreign passport, please provide a copy of the photo data page of the original passport as well as the Chinese visa you have been issued (if the new passport does not match the name recorded in the original passport, please provide a document issued by the relevant official to certify the change of name).
7、Minor applicants who can apply for a visa:
A birth certificate, a copy of both parents' valid documents, a letter of consent from both parents and other relevant official documents are required.
8、Other application materials (including but not limited to):
Invitation letter from the trade partner in China for business activities such as documents and invitations to economic and trade fairs. This invitation letter must contain the following:
- Personal information of the invitee: name, gender, date of birth, passport number, etc.
- Information about the invitee's visit to China: the purpose of the visit (the relationship between the inviting organization and the invitee's organization must be stated, and the specific reason for the visit), the date of arrival and departure, the place of stay, the relationship with the inviting organization or the inviter, the source of expenses during the stay in China, etc.
- Information on the inviting unit or the inviter: name of the inviting unit or the name of the inviter, contact telephone number, address, official seal of the inviting unit, position, name and signature of the legal representative of the inviting unit or the inviter, etc.
9、Special Note:
- Scanned printouts and photocopies of unit invitations are accepted, but the consular officer may require the applicant to provide the original letter of invitation.
- Invitation letters issued by individuals in China must provide a copy of the inviter's valid documents (front and back of the identity card or the front page of the Chinese residence and non-Chinese passport).
- Depending on the circumstances, the consular officer may request additional supporting documents and supplementary materials from the applicant, or may require the applicant to be interviewed.
- The consular officer decides whether to issue a visa and the validity of entry, number of entries and duration of stay for which the visa is issued, depending on the applicant's particular circumstances.
