To further facilitate Chinese visa applicants, starting immediately until December 31, 2026, fingerprint collection is exempted for all short-term visa applicants with a duration of stay not exceeding 180 days at all Chinese visa authorities overseas.

However, for applicants of certain visa categories, including D, J1, Q1, S1, X1, and Z visas, who are required to apply for residence permits after entering China, fingerprint collection will still be conducted in accordance with the regulations.

Please note that fingerprint collection will continue to be waived for the following categories of applicants:

1. Children under the age of 14 and adults over the age of 70;

2. Holders of diplomatic passports, or those eligible for diplomatic, service or courtesy visas of China;

3. Applicants whose all ten fingers are missing or whose fingerprints cannot be collected.
