I. Preparing visa application documents
Visa application documents consist of basic documents and other supporting documents.
II. Fill in the online application form and upload the visa application documents
Please choose the correct Chinese Visa Application Service Center (in the following text referred to as the
'Visa Center') on the website www.visaforchina.cn where the application shall be submitted. Register on
the website and log in. Click on “My Account” and fill in the application form online, upload the visa
application documents and confirm your application. Wait for the result of the pre-check of your
application. All applicants (excluding applicants for Hong Kong and Macao Visa) have to fill in the
application form online and upload the visa application documents.
(Note: If the online form page cannot be opened normally, please try to clear the cache, or switch the language and refresh the
page. It is recommended to use Google Chrome browser).
Please note:
1. Check the assessment result of your application: Applicant can find the assessment result in “My
Account” once submitting the application. If the status shows “online review completed”, please
print the first page and the last page of the application form and the attached “Visa Application
Certificate” in confirmation email. Please sign the last page of the application form.
(If the applicant is under 18 years of age, all legal representatives (father, mother, or guardian) must sign and submit a travel
consent form or appropriate documentation.)
2.Video interview (if required)
Some applicants might have to introduce themselves via video interview. Please schedule an
appointment on the Visa Center’s website for the video interview.
III. Submitting the visa application documents and paying the fee at the Visa Center
1. When your application status shows “online review completed” and you have received the
confirmation email, you may submit your documents at the Visa Center without an appointment,
Monday to Friday, from 09:00 to 12:00, together with the printed Visa Application Certificate, the
signed first and last pages of the application form, and any other additional documents.
2. The following documents must be submitted at the Visa Center:
1.Original passport
2.The printed first and last page of the application form with signature, and the Visa Application
Certificate
3.A photo (recent, color, front-facing, white background, 48mm × 33mm, no head wear)
4.Other required supporting documents
1. Fingerprints will be collected from the applicants. Following groups are exempt from fingerprint
collection :
(1) Applicants under the age of 14 or over 70;
(2) Diplomatic passport holders, or applicants eligible for diplomatic and courtesy visas;
(3) Applicants who already had their fingerprints collected within the past five years at the Embassy ofthe People’s Republic of China in Hamburg with the same passport;
(4) Applicants who suffer from 10 fingers mutilation or whose fingerprints cannot be collected;
(5) Applicants who apply for single or double entry visa (duration less than 180 days) up to 31
December 2025.
The Embassy/The Consulate General explicitly states that applicants must appear in person for
fingerprint collection. If identity fraud is detected, entry into China will be denied, and the applicant will
bear all resulting consequences.
2. All fees must be paid when submitting documents to the visa centre. (Visa and service fees.)
Applicants may pay in cash or by debit card.
IV.Passport Collection
When submitting documents at the Visa Center, applicants will be given the "Pickup Form". You can use
this "Pickup Form" to collect your passport on a working day between 9:00 am and 12:00 pm.
