1. Service Options

Regular Service: 4 working days

Generally, we keep your passport for 4 working days. If there's no holiday break and you submit your application documents on Monday, you can get your passport back with a visa result on Thursday.

Express Service: 3 working days

Generally, we keep your passport for 3 working days. You have to submit your application documents before 11:00 am to apply for the express service on the day you attend our centre. If there's no holiday break and you submit your application documents on Monday before 11:00 am, you can get your passport back with a visa result on Wednesday. Express charges will apply.

Note: If consular officers consider that you need to provide more supporting documents, this process will take longer.

2. Payment methods

Starting in May 2018, all applicants need to make the payment of all fees when lodging visa application at Manchester Visa Centre. Fees will not be refunded should the visa application be declined or refused by the Chinese Embassy or Consulates.

(1) Manchester Visa Centre accepts POUND by UK debit card.

When you collect your passport, if there is a change in visa fee, please make sure you bring the same debit card to pay or to be refunded.

(2) If you request to have the passports returned by post while lodging the application at the counter, you  must make the payment of visa fee and service fee right after your application is accepted. Please also provide a prepaid, traceable envelop with asigned receiving address when submitting (extra charge will occur if the visa centre provides you with the envelope). Meanwhile you should fill in the Payment Authorization Form in advance (Please fill in the same debit card information which you make payment at counter), just in case the Visa Centre needs to charge or refund fees from/to your debit card, so you do not have to come to the Visa Centre again for such reason.
